About Info

This site has been created to offer detailed information, maps and where to stay with your horse on DOC approved horse riding trails (and others) in Central Otago, Queenstown Lakes and nearby districts.

All information and photographs have been supplied by the voluntary group "ROCO" (Riders of Central Otago) and local Department of Conservation.

With over 20 approved areas for horseback riding in these areas we aim to provide a simple and easy to use site to supply all the info you will need to access these tracks and have a safe and amazing journey through these (mostly) historic areas/reserves.

Although some of these tracks/areas are not very accessible we aim to provide/seek improvements to these tracks with signage, horse accessible gates, float parking and risk management.

We ask that all users of the information and tracks provided here abide by rider care code and respect other track users and the conservation efforts.
